FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy and can be used in foundry manufacture in the manufacture of bimetallic parts. Method uses a steel pipe, which is rigidly fixed on a steel plate – a lower electrode forming the bottom of a piece of steel pipe, insert a graphite electrode into it until it comes into contact with the lower electrode and the slag containing 60 % CaF2, 30 % Al2O3, 10 % CaO, current is passed to melt the slag and simultaneously heat the steel pipe to a temperature of 950–1,000 °C, remove the graphite electrode and introduce a cladded copper electrode prior to touching it with slag and closing the electrical circuit, after complete fusion of the copper electrode, the process is stopped, the resulting preform is cooled, the lower electrode and slag is removed from the copper surface, the space of the pipe above the copper flange with tubes for the supply and removal of coolant is covered and a steel rod is welded, which is the electrode holder and current conductor.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a bimetal for the manufacture of a non-consumable electrode, which is used in electroslag installations in the process of utilization of metallurgical slag wastes and CHP ashes.
