FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a generator of ammonia gas for producing ammonia from ammonia precursor and its application for reduction of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases, in particular, from industrial plants, of internal combustion engines from gas engines, from diesel engines or gasoline engines. Proposed ammonia gas generator contains a catalyst unit which contains a catalyst for decomposition and/or hydrolysis of ammonia precursors to ammonia and a mixing chamber located upstream of catalyst, sprayer for ammonia precursor solution supply into mixing chamber and outlet for the formed ammonia gas. Wherein the sprayer includes a nozzle, which has theoretical angle α of spraying from 10° to 90° and the distance between the nozzle and the front surface of the catalyst ranges from 15 up to 2000 mm, wherein the generator has at least one heat insulation layer.
EFFECT: technical result is high degree of conversion of ammonia precursors into ammonia gas.
