FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing ammonia from its precursor solution and its use in systems for reducing toxicity of exhaust gases for reduction of nitrogen oxides in them. Method involves using a generator of ammonia gas containing a catalyst unit containing a catalyst for decomposition and/or ammonia precursor hydrolysis to form ammonia, and a mixing chamber arranged upstream from the catalyst, wherein the ammonia precursor solution is fed into the mixing chamber so, that the load on the end surface of the catalyst ranges from 3.0 to 15g/(h*cm2). Method is used for reducing nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases of industrial plants, internal combustion engines, gas engines, diesel engines or gasoline engines.

EFFECT: technical result is ensuring high degree of conversion and long-term operation of equipment without servicing.
