FIELD: radar ranging and radio navigation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar and can be used in security alarm. Device comprises installed on opposite sides of a security boundary transmitter and receiver of directed radio-frequency radiation. Transmitter consists of a microwave generator, first and second microwave switches, first and second power amplifiers, a first microwave antenna and timer. Receiver consists of a second microwave antenna, first and second amplitude microwave detectors, first and second low frequency amplifiers, first and second filters, first and second switch elements, adder element, subtraction element and signal processor. Each of microwave antennae forms two beam patterns, displaced in space in horizontal plane by certain angle relative to axial line of detection zone. Signal processor is capable of integrating variables (envelopes) of sum and difference signals, threshold processing of sum signal, determining moment of phase transition of difference signal and making a decision on direction of movement of intruder "to us" or "from us".

EFFECT: higher reliability of device for determining direction of an intruder crossing a security boundary by beam scanning of space of protected boundary.
