FIELD: security systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to for NPP accident localizing systems for trapping corium. In located below reactor housing and intended for cooling liquid chamber melt receiving device is installed, made in form of vertical pipes. During chamber filling melt is supplied into pipes, at least, partially filled with metal carbonates, which are decomposed to oxides during heating by means of melt. Metal carbonates, subjected to decomposition, are selected from divalent cation carbonates: Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Ba, Sr, Pb, Zn, Cu, etc. Device for corium catching contains chamber located below reactor housing and intended for cooling fluid, in which melt receiving vertical pipes are installed. Pipes inner cavities are connected with chamber annular space, and upper ends are connected by their ends. Pipes inner cavities contain melted volume displacers, and at least part of inner cavities comprise metal carbonates. Metal carbonates are arranged in melted volume displacers or made in form of porous briquettes.

EFFECT: safe cooling of corium.
