FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method is intended for machining of axially symmetric parts and involves the exposure under force of a cutting tool on a rotating part. Maximum cutting speed is defined by enclosed formula depending on the critical value of temperature difference of the surface and the central layers of the processed part leading to occurrence of thermoplastic deformations in the surface layers of the part and formation of residual stresses, cutter feed per one revolution of the article and cutting depth.
EFFECT: provided is determination of maximum machining modes from the conditions of preventing formation of residual stresses, determining the accuracy and quality of the surface layer of the processed parts.
