SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of pipes made from thermoplastic material, and can be used, in particular, for cutting pipes. Method involves performing local circumferential heating circular part (3) of tube (2) to preset operating temperature by heating means (5), having at least one device (6) for emitting electromagnetic waves in direction of longitudinal axis of pipe, configured to reflect at least part of electromagnetic waves towards circular part (3) of tube (2). Cutting of pipe (2) at heated annular part (3) is carried out using cutting tool (4).
EFFECT: use of the invention provides higher quality of pipes.
