SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a lifting beam for lifting and handling a rotor blade of a wind energy plant. Lifting beam for lifting and handling a rotor blade of a wind energy plant, comprising a fastening means for fastening lifting beam to a crane, at least one fastening means for fastening lifting beam to rotor blade, as well longitudinal pivoting means for pivoting rotor blade which is supported by lifting beam about a longitudinal axis of rotor blade, and transverse pivoting means for pivoting rotor blade which is supported by lifting beam about a transverse axis, extending perpendicular to longitudinal axis, wherein longitudinal pivoting means has an actuator for actively pivoting rotor blade, and transverse pivoting means is adapted for passive pivoting and has a brake means and/or a securing means for securing lifting beam in at least two mutually different pivotal positions.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at simplifying assembly and dismantling of rotor blade.
