FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to brush seals. Brush seal contains sealing surface, side plate, support plate, a set of bristles and pressing element. Support plate selectively is located in stationary position and has at least one support tooth and support ledge. Support tooth has a tooth surface, while support ledge has a ledge surface. Tooth gap is measured between the tooth surface and sealing surface. Ledge gap is measured between the ledge surface and sealing surface. Tooth gap is less than the ledge gap. Bristles are located between the side plate and support plate. Bristles have end part for sealing with sealing surface. Press element applies pressing force to the support plate directed towards the sealing surface. Support tooth is configured for selective contact with the sealing surface.
EFFECT: invention ensures higher reliability of sealing.
