FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of generating a stereophonic side signal from a stereophonic input signal. Device comprises a generator of information on changes to generate information on changing basing on information on a mid/side signal. Besides, the device includes a signals manipulation unit designed to manipulate the first input channel on the basis of the information on changes to obtain a first side channel and able to manipulate the second input channel on the basis of the information on changes to obtain a second side channel. Generator of information on changes comprises a generator of spectral weights for generating information on the change by forming a first spectral weighting coefficient based on a monophonic mid signal and a monophonic side signal in the stereophonic input signal.
EFFECT: technical result is forming additional channels from a stereophonic input signal.
