METHOD FOR THE PROGNOSIS OF PROGRESSION OF THE HIV DISEASE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G01N33/569

Abstract RU 2601379 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used for the in vitro prognosis of progression of an HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus type 1) infection in a patient infected with an HIV-1 virus. It is performed by the following steps: a) measuring the level of antibodies directed against the 3S peptide of SEQ ID N° 2in a sample collected from the said patient, b) comparing the level of anti-3S antibodies measured at step a) with a reference value of anti-3S antibody level, that is indicative of the progression of the HIV-1 infection, wherein (I) level is a "good" prognosis of HIV disease progression for values measured at step a) that are above the said reference value, or (II) level is a "bad" prognosis of HIV disease progression for values measured at step a) that are below the said reference value. Also a method for monitoring the efficacy of a therapeutic treatment for HIV-1 is suggested.

EFFECT: group of inventions enables to prognose the progression of disease caused by HIV-1, in the general population of HIV infected patients.
