FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 1-(7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2E-octen-1-yl)-2-methylbenzimidazole, involving reaction of myrcene with dialkylamine, such as dimethylamine, diethylamine, piperidine, morpholine, catalysed by sodium metal, at 50-60 °C; methoxylation with methanol of obtained N-geranyldialkylamine while heating in presence of 1.0-1.2 equivalent H2SO4 or HClO4; quaternisation with ethyl- or methyl iodide of formed N-(7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2E-octen-1-yl)dialkylamine and obtained N-(7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2E-octen-1-ylyl)trialkylammonium iodide performing allylation of 2-methylbenzimidazole at 68-72 °C in presence of sodium hydride and a palladium catalyst, which is Pd(dba)2.
EFFECT: technical result is environmentally safe method of producing 1-(7-methoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2E-octen-1-yl)-2-methylbenzimidazole.
