FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing 1-geranylbenzimidazole, which is an environmentally safe insecticide used for plant protection. The method involves the reaction of myrcene with dialkylamine, such as dimethylamine, diethylamine, piperidine, morpholine, to form geranyl dialkylamine, its quaternization with ethyl or methyl iodide, and the interaction of the resulting quaternary ammonium salt with benzimidazole in the presence of Na2HPO4 or NaH2PO4 and a palladium catalyst. The yield of the target product based on myrcene is 48-61%, and the isomeric purity is more than 92%.
EFFECT: method for obtaining 1-geranylbenzimidazole from available plant raw materials, excluding the use of toxic, highly corrosive, explosive and fire-hazardous reagents.
