FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and methods of monitoring or measuring skin condition by detecting vibrations of melanin and haemoglobin using colorimetric analysis. Method is implemented by means of a portable device for measurement of content of chromophore in skin. Method comprises creating constant measurement conditions using an opaque detection protection unit to enclose a light source and an image detector. Detection protection unit is removable and has a connecting part for connection to a device and disconnection from it, as well as allowing for change of height, which is determined by its own focal distance of image detector. Providing radiation with a broadband white light source. Forming radiation scattered by skin by means of an optical system. Detecting formed radiation and creating a colour image using image detector. Determining three colour coordinates for each image using a processing unit and on basis of constant measurement conditions mathematical modelling is performed to create a model of propagation of radiation in visible spectral range in biological tissues. Three colour coordinates are compared with results of mathematical modelling. Content of chromophores is determined from skin reflection spectrum.
EFFECT: reduced measurement error caused by external illumination conditions, easy use due to compact size of device, easy localisation of measurement zone due to design of device.
