SUBSTANCE: invention relates to terahertz optical engineering components base, in particular, to terahertz radiation transmission waveguides. Sapphire terahertz photonic crystal waveguide is dielectric body with parallel channels located in form of hexagonal structure. At that, monocrystalline sapphire axis C, of which waveguide is made, is directed along channels, and waveguide channels minimum cross-section size is equal to or greater than transmitted terahertz radiation wavelength.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of transmitted radiation specific energy losses, as well as obtaining stable spectral composition of transmitted radiation.
