FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to interferometry. When implementing the method, radiation is introduced into a double-mode waveguide, part of which is occupied by the analyzed substance, and is output through the shaped diaphragm, where at a distance greater than an order of magnitude the average wavelength of the used radiation (>10λ), recording an interference pattern obtained as a result of interference of waveguide modes. Sapphire cell is a two-mode sapphire photonic-crystal THz waveguide with a round diaphragm on the input end, as well as a diaphragm with an asymmetric hole at the output end.
EFFECT: high sensitivity of intra-waveguide interferometry, wider range of modes, where measurements can be taken, including measurements at temperatures up to 2,000 °C, at substantially high/low pressure, in chemically aggressive media.
