FIELD: nuclear engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering, namely, to design of ACT heat-pipe cooled reactors. Reactor core consists of cells, containing channel with nuclear fuel and coolant in their symmetry center, surrounded by neutrons moderator. Neutrons moderator consists of 2 layers, wherein adjacent to channel layer has atomic weight , and outer layer has light atomic weight. In nuclear reactor fuel contains mixture of fertile nuclides, for example, 238U and 232Th, as coolant lithium allot is selected enriched with 7Li isotope, with heavy atomic weight nuclides, for example, Bi, and in inter channel space is lead with prevailing content of 208Pb isotope.

EFFECT: higher reactor safety in case of coolant overheating owing to reduced deceleration "step" - energy losses by neutrons at deceleration in neutrons reactor energy entire range and in increase of their resonant absorption in fuel owing to deceleration on inter-channel decelerator nuclei with heavy atomic weight .
