FIELD: rocket technics.
SUBSTANCE: rocket engine nozzle with an extension mechanism providing translation of the nozzle from the folded position into the operational one includes a flare and a folding adapter composed of petals with elements of articulation of the petals with the flare. Petal generatrix in the folded state drawn through the plane of its symmetry is parallel with the flare generatrix drawn through the same plane. Elements of articulation of the petals with the flare contain pantographs interconnecting adjacent petals. Pantographs contain a longitudinal jar connected with each of two adjacent petals by two hinged plates and a rod arranged able to translate therein and forming with the jar an under-piston cavity communicated with a pyrocartridge. Each petal is connected with the flare by guide elements. Between the flare and the folding adapter there is a damping-obturating assembly containing a rubber cord and a contacting with it in the working position annular tooth. On the rod there are hinged rotary rods articulated with plates arranged on the rod side.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce dynamic loads at the nozzle extension, as well as to increase reliability of its design.
