FIELD: rocket engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rocketry and can be used in production of rocket engine with expansion nozzle. Rocket engine nozzle with an extension mechanism, which ensures the transfer of the nozzle from the folded position to the working position, comprises a bell and folding adapter formed by petals with elements of kinematic connection of the petals to the flare. Petal generatrix in the folded position drawn through the plane of its symmetry is parallel with the flare generatrix drawn through the same plane. Elements of the kinematic connection of the petals with the flare comprise pantographs connecting neighboring petals with each other, wherein each pantograph comprises pivotally mounted bars, which are pivotally mounted on the pins associated with the petal. Each petal is connected to the flare with by guiding elements made in the form of a plate, which is pivotally mounted in two hinges, one of which is rigidly connected to the flare and the second one – to the petal. In the working position, the basket consisting of sectors opposite the petals encloses the folding adapter. Each petal is made of a curved plate of carbon-carbon composite material fastened to the basket sector in the vicinity of coupling of the petal to the flare, wherein slide blocks are installed between the basket and the curved plate of the carbon-carbon composite material.

EFFECT: invention provides reduced weight of the structure and simplicity and manufacturability of the nozzle manufacture.
