FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: rocket engine nozzle with expansion mechanism providing the nozzle switching from the folded position to the working one, contains a bell and a folding adapter formed by tabs with the elements of kinematic connection of the tabs with the bell. In the folded nozzle position, the tab generatrix drawn through the tab symmetry plane is parallel with the bell generatrix drawn through the same plane. The elements of kinematic connection of the tabs with the bell contain pantographs interconnecting the adjacent tabs. Each pantograph has a lengthwise beam connected with each of two adjacent tabs by two hinged plates. Each tab is connected with the bell by a guide element disposed on the symmetry plane of the tab, wherein the nozzle comprises an expasnsion drive. The tabs are placed in several concentric tiers, containing the same number of tabs. Each guide element simultaneously connects the tabs of the bottom and each higher tier, as well as the bell, via the hinges.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce the nozzle dimensions in the folded position.
