FIELD: acoustics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydroacoustic and can be used to build sea objects automated and automatic classification systems, with regard to short-range echo-ranging systems. Method of ditching object automatic detection and classification, comprising probing signal emission, receiving echo signal by directivity characteristics static fan, measurement of noise and detection threshold selection, determination of echo signals exceeding threshold, automatic detection of specified threshold exceeding successively on all directivity characteristics static fan spatial channels, measuring and memorizing of amplitude and number of readings exceeded detection threshold, measuring and memorizing spatial channels numbers, in which detection threshold was exceeded, measuring detected echo signals amplitudes and times ratio, generating classification features based on it, which enable to make decisions in favor of ditching object, if echo signal is detected in adjacent spatial channels, and if several echo signals are observed and wherein first echo signal measured length is greater than second echo signal duration.

EFFECT: technical result of proposed technical solution is enabling ditching object classification by multiple grounds.
