SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geophysics and can be used for determining confidence value for plane of crack development. In some aspects subset of microseismic events is selected, which is associated with operation of hydraulic fracturing of underground zone. Method includes determining confidence binding a selected subset of microseismic events with common plane of crack development. Confidence can be determined, for example, based on number of microseismic events in subset, uncertainty of location for each microseismic event in subset, moment magnitude for each microseismic events in subset, distance between each microseismic event and plane of crack, selected to microseismic events, orientation of plane of crack, selected to microseismic events, or a combination of these and other factors.

EFFECT: technical result is increased accuracy and reliability of obtained data.
