FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention discloses use of a catalyst containing a zeolite, which includes at least one catalytically active noble metal or compound thereof, wherein said zeolite is a hydrophobic zeolite of structural type BEA, as a hydrogen oxidation catalyst. Also disclosed is a hydrogen oxidation method in which hydrogen and oxygen are brought into contact with said catalyst. Also disclosed is use of catalyst for recombination of hydrogen at nuclear power stations, in recovery plants or storage facilities for nuclear fuel elements.
EFFECT: technical result is providing a catalyst, which is used in systems for recombination with large amounts of water vapour, has good regeneration and also has smaller level doping with a noble metal.
