SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power engineering. Method of turbo unit starting containing a gas turbine engine including at least one rotor and starter configured to drive the rotor rotation, is executed by an electronic module. Proposed method comprises: stage of obtaining instruction to start the turbo unit and start in response to receiving this instruction; stage of primary acceleration, when starter works to increase the rotor rotation speed; stage of heat homogenization, when starter works to maintain constant rotor rotation speed or reduce it untill specified conditions are satisfied; after specified conditions are satisfied secondary acceleration stage takes place, when starter works to increase rotor rotation speed; and stage of ignition E6) when an instruction for engine ignition is recieved.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase turbo unit start efficiency.
