SUBSTANCE: method for the engine 200 having a plurality of cylinders (C1), (C2), (C3), (C4) is that during the first states, the ignition is performed in a subset of the cylinders (C2), (C3) and all exhaust gases are directed from the subset of the cylinders through a first manifold (234) connected directly to a catalytic converter (208), rather than to a turbo-supercharger (206). During the second states, the first part of the exhaust gases from all the cylinders is directed through a second manifold (236) connected to the turbo-supercharger (206) in all cylinders (C1), (C2), (C3), (C4), and a second part of the exhaust gases from only the subset of the cylinders (C2), (C3) is directed through the first manifold (234). The first states are the engine temperature (200) below the threshold value. The second states are the engine temperature (200) above the threshold value and the engine load from medium to high. An embodiment of the method for the engine and the engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: achievement of faster heating of the catalytic converter.
