SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTROSURGICAL CONDUCTIVE GAS CUTTING FOR IMPROVING ESCHAR, SEALING VESSELS AND TISSUES Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61B18/18

Abstract RU 2603296 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical equipment, namely to electrosurgical means of cutting and coagulation of tissues. Electrosurgical method for simultaneously cutting and coagulating tissue with an electrosurgical device having an electrode and a channel wherein said channel has a port near a proximal end of said electrode, involves the step of causing an inert gas to flow through said channel and exit said port, the step of applying high-frequency energy to said electrode, while said inert gas flows through the channel, wherein inert gas exiting said port is continuously plasmatized, the step of initiating an electrical discharge from said electrode through said continuously plasmatized inert gas to said tissue, the step of cutting tissue with said electrode, maintaining said electrical discharge from said electrode through said plasmatized inert gas, while cutting tissue with said electrode to cause coagulation of said tissue simultaneously with said cutting. Operation of the electrosurgical device provides the method implementation. By the second assembly of the device, it includes a housing, an electrode, passing through the housing, where an electrode part extends from the distal end of the housing, connector of the electrode with an electrosurgical generator, channel in the housing, port on the proximal end of the channel to connect it with a source of inert gas under pressure, port on the distal end of the inert gas outlet channel flowing through the channel, and control means for initiation of inert gas flow through the channel and transmission of high-frequency energy to the electrode providing the cutting mode, coagulation mode, argon plasma coagulation mode and the plasma cutting mode.

EFFECT: using the inventions allows to provide the "hybrid" cutting mode.
