SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology, particularly to methods used for regulating sirtuin gene expression and simulation of limiting the caloric value. Said methods involve administering one or more isoflavones to the animal in a therapeutically effective amount to regulate sirtuin gene expression and thereby to simulate the caloric value limitation. Expressed sirtuin gene represents at least one of SIRT1, SIRT2 or SIRT3, and where one or more isoflavones represent equol or isoflavones, which is metabolized into equol.
EFFECT: use of equol increases sirtuin expression.
