FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of nitric acid esters used in production of ballistic powder, industrial explosives and liquid monofuels, particularly to a nitrate for producing liquid nitroesters. Proposed nitrator comprises enclosed in a housing with a cover and rotating on a vertical shaft an open-top plate with a disc fixed thereon by radial partitions and equipped with sides bent upwards, forming a toroid-shaped cavity, and introduced into torus space a mixing tube, end of which is directed towards rotation of plate and is arranged with minimum possible gap relative to surface of plate, tube for supplying nitro mixture into centre of plate and tube for supplying alcohol with arrangement thereof from intake end of mixing tube at a distance, corresponding to turning angle of plate about its axis by 100-180°. Nitrator is equipped with a baffle plate in form of vertically arranged curved plate with unclosed cylindrical surface, in cross section representing an arc segment with a central angle of 180°. Beginning of plate is located in zone of intake end of mixing tube with following continuation in direction of rotation of plate. Upper end plate is attached to outer surface of cover of housing, and lower end is bent at an angle of 25-35° and inserted into torus space of plate. Radius of arc of baffle is smaller than radius of edge of bent sides of plate.
EFFECT: nitrator increases safety of nitration process due to creation of conditions to prevent drops of reaction liquid falling onto surface of housing of nitrator and preventing decomposition thereof without using cooling while maintaining dimensions of nitrator and dwell time therein.
