FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention describes a fuel composition for diesel engines, characterised by that, fuel additive used is a mixture of 10-25 wt% of a mixture of alkyl nitrates of alcohols C6-C9, 10-25 wt% of a mixture of dialkyl ethers based on alcohols C6-C9 and up to 100 wt% of diesel fuel or any hydrocarbon solvent, wherein initial alcohols C6-C9 to produce a mixture of alkyl nitrates and a mixture of dialkyl ethers used is a fraction of alcohols C6-C9, produced by liquid-phase oxidation of a fraction of n-alkanes C6-C9 with aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution in a medium of methanol on a heterogeneous catalyst DP-2, and subsequent hydrogenation of reaction mass on a rigid cellular catalyst Pd/Al2O3. Also disclosed is a diesel fuel containing said additive in amount of 0.01-0.5 wt%.
EFFECT: composition increases cetane number of diesel fuels by 4-6 units and lowers chilling point of diesel fuels by 10-15 °C.
