FIELD: pharmaceutics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical industry, namely to an agent for treating osteomyelitis. It is suggested to use β-betulonic acid alanylamide of formula (I):

as an agent for treating osteomyelitis.

EFFECT: presented agent effectively prevents generalization of inflammatory process, formation of extensive zones of necrosis and infiltration, osteoclastic bone resorption and formation of sequestra, which in turn prevents the chronic inflammatory process and enables its elimination; promotes earlier and more expressed formation of loose fibrous connective and membrane reticulated bone in comparison to groups without using betamide, which indicates the positive effect of the preparation on the repair processes in bone; causes faster onset of functional adaptation phase, promoting faster completion of endochondral osteohistogenesis to form trabecular bone tissue.
