SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a smoking article comprising a tobacco rod and a filter connected to the tobacco rod, the filter comprising a flow limiter; smoking article further comprises a ventilation zone at a location along the downstream filter relative to the flow limiter; wherein the diameter of the tobacco rod is from about 5 mm to about 8.5 mm, wherein the tobacco package density within the tobacco rod is from about 180 mg/cubic centimeter to about 280 mg/cubic centimeter, wherein length of tobacco rod is from approximately 15 mm to approximately 45 mm; wherein tobacco rod is surrounded by wrapper having air permeability of less than 20 Coresta units; and wherein the wrapper is made from a transparent film of regenerated cellulose or cellophane.
