FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing perfluoro-2-methyl-3-pentanone, which can be used as a cleaning agent, a solvent and a fire extinguishing agent. Method consists in that in presence of fluoride salts and ether compounds, perfluoro-2,3-epoxide-2-methyl pentane is converted into perfluoro-2-methyl-3-pentanone by a catalytic rearrangement reaction at reaction temperature of 10-70 °C. Fluoride salt is selected from one of or combination of two or more than three of lithium fluoride, sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, cesium fluoride and aluminum fluoride, ether compound is selected from one of or combination of two or more than three of diethyl ether, sulfolane, 15-crown-5 and 18-crown-6, molar ratio of ether compound and fluoride salts 0.5-5.0:1 and molar ratio of fluoride salts and perfluoro-2,3-epoxy-2-methyl pentane is 0.02-0.5:1.
EFFECT: proposed method enables to obtain an end product with high selectivity.
