FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to filtration materials intended for use in filters or filter elements of smoking articles, to materials, including polylactide fibres and one or more plasticisers. Filtering material for inclusion into filter or filter element of a smoking article, wherein said filter material contains polylactide fibres and a plasticiser, where polylactide fibres mainly consist of polylactide, and where polylactide fibres are not bound to each other by plasticiser.
EFFECT: technical result is producing biodegradable filtration materials, preferably made of materials which can be processed using a simple method in fibre, having thermal processability and sufficiently high mechanical and physical properties.
