SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol-generating article and an aerosol-generating system. Aerosol-generating article for producing an inhaled aerosol when heated comprises in a linear series arrangement: first plug of filter material; aerosol-generating substrate rod, wherein the aerosol-generating substrate rod is located immediately downstream of the first plug of filter material and contains at least 12 wt.% of substance for formation of aerosol. Aerosol-generating substrate rod has length of 5 to 50 mm. Product comprises a hollow tubular segment having a support function and containing a fibrous filter material, wherein the hollow tubular segment is located directly downstream of the rod and is aligned in the longitudinal direction with the rod, a second plug of filter material located downstream of the hollow tubular segment, and an outer wrapper surrounding the first plug, the rod, the support element and the second plug. Fibrous filter material contains fibres containing a polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) polymer or copolymer, wherein the hollow tubular segment contains at least 25 wt.% of a PHA polymer or copolymer.
EFFECT: hollow tubular segment containing PHA fibres provides good stability of RTD, which means that high variability of RTD can be avoided, standard deviation from target RTD is from 2 to 5%.
