SUBSTANCE: invention relates to power industry and can be used to determine a short circuit location on power transmission lines as per measurements from two ends thereof without using equivalent parameters of feeding systems. Core: measured on both ends of the line are non-synchronized by the corners complex phase currents and voltages of the main frequency at the moment of a short circuit, measured is the angle between similar voltages on the line ends, decrabbed are voltages and currents vectors on the other end by the measured angle, calculated is the relative value of distance to the sort circuit location using phase values of currents and voltages and longitudinal and transverse phase and interphase parameters of the line.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of determining a short circuit location.
