FIELD: fire safety.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a plant, as well as a method for fire extinguishing in closed space (6), when closed space (6) is filled with a fire-extinguishing gas, at least, as long as the area of filling is covered by an efficient with respect to fire extinguish concentration (a) of the fire-extinguishing gas. For the maximum concentration (b) of the fire-extinguishing gas to be ensured for as short period of time as possible without exposing people located in closed space (6) to hazard, in compliance with the invention it is provided, that filling closed space (6) is divided into the phase of prefilling and the subsequent phase of the main filling. Phase of prefilling corresponds to the period of time between the moment of time (t1) of alerting for warnings people in danger and a preset moment of time (t2). Main phase of filling corresponds to the period of time between the preset moment of time (t2) and the moment of time (t4) of reaching the maximum concentration (b) of the fire-extinguishing gas.

EFFECT: closed space (6) is filled in such a way, that during the entire stage of prefilling the fire-extinguishing gas concentration in closed space (6) does not exceed a preset or a being preset for the used fire-extinguishing gas value, which is less than the critical NOAEL-value.
