FIELD: fire fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for fire risk reduction and indoor fire extinguishing wherein indoor oxygen concentration is at first reduced to a certain base inertisation level and then continuously maintained at such base inertisation level. The invention provides that in the event of fire, indoor oxygen concentration is additionally reduced from said base inertisation level to a certain primary reduced level and continuously maintained at such primary reduced level during a certain primary preset period of time, and then if at the end of the primary preset period of time, the fire is not extinguished yet, oxygen concentration is additionally reduced from said primary reduced level to the full inertisation level.
EFFECT: invention ensures to avoid decompression in the event of fire or to minimise required decompression, and at the same time enables fire extinguishing by inert gas supply indoors in the amount adequate to the indoor fire extent.
