FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of bimetallic wire on steel base with sheaths from different metals, mainly non-ferrous. Steel core and copper shell in form of tape are preliminarily treated with electrolyte in anode process electro-hydrodynamical mode. Workpiece is assembled by core wrapping with shell. Connecting its edges. Obtained workpiece is heated to 750-850 °C in electrolytic plasma in anode process mode. Obtained workpiece is rolled.
EFFECT: method allows to produce bimetallic wire with high quality of its constituent metals connection, with considerably smaller rolling forces provides strong connection of dissimilar metals, for example core steel and shell copper, wherein copper shell is not thinning and burr is not formed.
