FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolytic treatment of metals and can be used for removal of oxide films of metals formed during cold and hot rolling, as well as during heat treatment and metal corrosion. Method includes pulling tape through electrolytic bath using a DC voltage source, wherein workpiece serves as anode, and treatment is carried out in aqueous salt solutions with conductivity of 0.05-0.7 Ohm-1•cm-1, surface tension of 50-76 mN/m at temperature of 30 to 70 °C for 10-30 seconds at voltage of 280-340 V and current density at anode of 0.4-0.6 A/cm2.
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of treated surface of rolled stock, stability and uniformity of surface treatment process of cleaning and descaling product from metal oxide films, and reduced power consumption per unit area of surface being cleaned.
