FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a superabsorbent polymer from polyacrylic acid basing on obtained from a biological material acrylic acid. Superabsorbent polymer composition is produced from an acrylic monomer composition, herewith the said acrylic monomer composition consists of acrylic acid, derivatives of acrylic acid or mixtures thereof, herewith the said composition of acrylic acid contains at least approximately 98 wt% of acrylic acid, derivatives of acrylic acid or mixtures thereof, and also part of the remaining impurities in the said composition of acrylic acid is lactic acid, derivatives of lactic acid or mixtures thereof, herewith the said composition for a superabsorbent polymer is obtained using method (I), which includes the stage of: a. receiving a pre-polymerizing solution containing: i. said acrylic composition and ii. solvent; and herewith pH of the said pre-polymerizing solution is less than approximately 6; or using method (II), which includes the stages of: a. obtaining the pre-polymerizing solution containing: (i) said acrylic composition and (ii) solvent; b. mixing the base with the said pre-polymerizing solution to form a partially neutralized solution of acrylic acid, and herewith pH of the said partially neutralized solution of acrylic acid is less than approximately 6. Disclosed are versions of compositions and absorbent products versions.

EFFECT: superabsorbent polymer shows when using the same result as a superabsorbent polymer if the monomer is obtained from oil.
