FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a hydroxypropionic acid dehydration catalyst, hydroxypropionic acid derivatives or mixtures thereof, consisting of one or more amorphous phosphate salts; where said one or more amorphous phosphate salts consist of one or more monovalent cations, wherein said one or more monovalent cations are selected from a group consisting of Na+, K+, Cs+ and mixtures thereof, and one or more phosphate anions selected from a group represented by empirical formula (I):

where x is any real number which is equal to or greater than 0 and is equal to or less than 1; and where said one or more amorphous phosphate salts of said dehydration catalyst are neutrally charged, wherein catalyst further comprises amorphous silicon oxide (SiO2); wherein said amorphous silicon oxide is chemically inert with respect to said one or more amorphous phosphate salts, and/or the catalyst further contains one or more salts of oxygen-containing acids; wherein said oxygen-containing acid salts contain one or more multivalent cations and one or more oxygen-containing anions; wherein said oxygen-containing anions are selected from a group represented by molecular formulas (II) and (III):

where a and b are positive integers or zero; where c, d and e are positive integers; where (a-2b) is equal to or greater than zero; where (2c-a) is greater than zero; wherein said one or more oxygen-containing acids are neutrally charged; and wherein said one or more oxygen-containing acid salts are chemically inert with respect to said one or more amphophosphate salts.

EFFECT: technical result is high output and selectivity with respect to acrylic acid.
