FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of composite materials with high values of ultimate strength and modulus of elasticity. Stacking of alternating layers of base metal and reinforcing perforated metal sheet with through channels is made, wherein channels are distributed uniformly over entire area of sheet. Layers are welded by explosion, it is followed by low-temperature annealing, rolling and final high-temperature annealing. Channels in reinforcing sheet are made in form of opposed cones, truncated in middle of sheet. Diameter of contact points of cones is less than diameter of base of cones by 1–2 sheet thickness.
EFFECT: method provides high strength and modulus of elasticity in combination with high plasticity, absence of anisotropy of properties.
