FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive inspection of metals and alloys, specifically to methods for inspecting phase composition, and can be used in metallurgy, metal working, machine building, aircraft engineering for controlling quality of products and stability of technological processes. Device for inspecting phase composition of steel includes a sensor (D), which consists of a housing made from nonmagnetic material, and a secondary instrument (VP) with an alphanumeric display for displaying output information. Housing accommodates interconnected instrument transformer (1), consisting of primary excitation winding (OV) and secondary measurement winding (OI), sinusoidal oscillation generator (2), current sensor-converter (3), digital-to-analogue converter (5), analogue-to-digital converter (4). Secondary device additionally comprises microprocessor module (7), connected to instrument transformer (1) through transceiver (10) of secondary instrument, coupled with transceiver (6) of sensor by means of radio signal, and controlling amplitude of output voltage of sinusoidal oscillation generator.

EFFECT: technical result of present invention is improvement of reliability and accuracy of automatic measurement of content of ferrite phase in a specimen or sample.
