FIELD: test and measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, in particular, to measurement and control of parameters in automation, and can be used for continuous automatic diagnosis of secondary power supply sources of automatic control systems, control and monitoring in various industries. To realise method of diagnosing secondary power supply measured voltage from output of secondary power supply is simultaneously supplied to a voltage scaling unit and a ripple conversion unit, from output of voltage scaling unit normalised and filtered voltage is supplied to input of analogue-to-digital converter of a microcontroller, where it is converted into a digital code of averaged voltage level, weight of which is compared in microprocessor with weight of codes of threshold values, and if weight of code of averaged voltage level is greater than (less than) weight of code of maximum (minimum) threshold value, a malfunction sign signal is generated to single indicator "UPPER" ("LOWER"), in ripple conversion unit, variable component of input voltage is converted in DC voltage, which in an analogue comparator of microcontroller is compared with reference voltage of internal reference voltage source, and if value of DC voltage value is greater than reference voltage of internal reference voltage source, a malfunction sign signal is generated to single indicator "PULSE". Controller for diagnosing secondary power sources comprises electronic unit, including voltage scaling unit 2, ripple conversion unit 3, microcontroller 4, single indicator 5 "UPPER", single indicator 6 "LOWER", single indicator 7 "PULSE".

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of duration of measurement cycle and control of level and range of voltage ripple, high accuracy, reliability and efficiency of diagnosing secondary power supply by measuring and controlling main parameters of its output voltage: level (constant component) and ripple range (variable component).
