FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering. Video decoding device includes an extraction module, which obtains from a bit stream maximum split information for internal mode, prediction mode information for coding unit and sub-split information on transformation unit; and a decoding module which determines maximum split level of transformation unit based on information of maximum split for internal mode, when information on prediction mode indicates an internal mode, wherein transformation unit is determined from said encoding unit; wherein decoding module splits current transformation unit into transformation units of next split level, when sub-split information on current transformation unit indicates split of current transformation unit, wherein next split level is greater than current split level, and performs inverse transformation on current transformation unit.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of decoding taking into account characteristics of image.
