SUBSTANCE: encoded video decoding method includes receiving a bitstream of the encoded video; determining at least one coding unit using the decomposition information extracted from the bitstream; extracting transformation index information from the bitstream indicating, whether the current level transformation unit included in the coding unit from at least one of the coding units is divided; when the transformation index information indicates decomposition of the current level transformation unit, the current level transformation unit is divided into four transformation units of lower level; and when the transformation index information indicates absence of decomposition of the current level transformation unit, inverse transformation of the current level transformation unit is performed for forming residual data corresponding to the current level transformation unit.
