SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied to electrical engineering. Charging a battery to required degree of charge occurs before starting a drive cycle of vehicle. Required degree of charge is determined based on profile of regenerative braking energy, that, as expected, will be recovered, and energy profile, that, as expected, will be used from battery during part of future drive cycle.

EFFECT: technical result is determination of required charge of traction battery before drive cycle for recuperation of braking energy during drive cycle.
