SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hybrid vehicles. According to the method for controlling the charge of the hybrid vehicle, the vehicle has operating modes including a normal mode for charging a battery in accordance with an operating state and a charging mode for generating power from a generator in accordance with the operating state. When the charging current in the charging mode exceeds a predetermined prescribed value, the upper limit of the electric charging power based on the electric power generated by the generator in the charging mode is set to a lower value than the upper limit of the electric charging power based on the electric power generated by the generator in the normal mode. The battery should not be recharged.
EFFECT: invention ensures charging control of a hybrid vehicle.
