Image forming device is connected to the client device via a network and includes image forming optical system 2, image forming element 6, IRCF filter control circuit 24 configured to insert/extract IRCF filter 4 into/from optical path of image forming optical system 2 and communication circuit 14 configured to receive a command of automatic control of insertion/removal for issuing a command for the image forming device to automatically control the insertion/removal of IRCF filter 4, and additional information relating to the insertion/extraction of IRCF filter 4 from the client device, and also configured to transmit service information indicating that the image forming apparatus uses additional information received via communication circuit 14 when IRCF filter 4 is inserted into the optical path, or when IRFC filter 4 is extracted from the optical path, or in case of insertion, and in case of extraction.
