FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to light-emitting diodes (LED) exciter system, lamp containing such LED exciter system, and method of LED excitation. Result is achieved by fact, that LED exciter system (1) contains current source (4), which supplies power current (i) to parallel arrangement of parallel switch (20) and LED (10). Parallel switch (20) short-circuits LED (10), when it is closed. Controller (15) during usage generates: (i) first control signal (E) to control over current source (4) for change of control mode, whereby power supply current (i) is controlled so, that it had non-zero average level, to attenuation mode, whereby power supply current (i) diminishes during attenuation period (Td), and (ii) second control signal (CSI) to control parallel switch (20) so, that it opened during open period (To), containing attenuation sub-period period (Td).
EFFECT: technical result consists in provision of LED exciter system, which provides smaller steps of change in light emission intensity.
